It could have provided strategy to the fight instead of new ways to button mash. Although you can imbue KratosвЂ™ weapon with fire, water, electricity or soul power, players canвЂ™t mix the elements or influence the environment with them. Creative director Todd Papy revamped the combat by giving Kratos the ability to pick up weapons on the field and add elemental strength to his Blades of Chaos, but they donвЂ™t provide enough depth to the fighting system. What makes it worse is a fighting system that falls short of its potential. These sort of flaws, along with some bugs and difficult combat sequences, will frustrate players. Other moments require strict timing so that if Kratos is speeding along and he moves faster than expected, he will miss a jump and die.

Some sections seem random and have no relations to the locale. But unfortunately, вЂњAscensionвЂќ doesnвЂ™t have the polish of its predecessors. Players will encounter the requisite puzzles and combat. That leads him to two major areas - the Temple of Delphi and the Statue of Apollo. As Kratos escapes his bonds from the Furies, he embarks on a grand adventure to learn the truth behind his imprisonment and acquire his freedom. It harkens back to the franchiseвЂ™s origins with the first two games in the series. When it comes to the single-player experience, вЂњAscensionвЂќ is a mess. ThereвЂ™s nowhere left to go with the legendary Spartan.Д«ut Santa Monica Studio went ahead anyway and the end product is a mixed bag with a campaign that played it safe and a multiplayer mode that took a huge risk.

The team didnвЂ™t have to make a fourth entry to the series, the first three and the intermittent chapters on the PlayStation Portable were enough to satisfy the biggest of Kratos fan. With вЂњGod of War: Ascension,вЂќ SonyвЂ™s Santa Monica Studio attempts to do both.

ItвЂ™s up to them to decide what they can do with the tools. By this time, studios have mastered the ins and outs of a system and squeezed every pixel and polygon they can get out of it. In the twilight of this console generation, games can either go one of two ways: Developers can change up the formula or they can stick with what works.

I hope God of War: Ascension has the scale from the previous games, especially 3 which is my favourite game ever, and also IвЂ™d like to know who the composer is, the God of War franchise always has beautiful original soundtracks and I expect the new game to be no different but IвЂ™ve heard Timothy Williams & Tyler Bates are now the composers? So of course Sony will continue God of War, they donвЂ™t have to bundle it from Earth to the moon for it to sell incredibly well like Uncharted/LittleBigPlanet have to be because it actually has a huge fan base unlike those games, not to say they both suck as LittleBigPlanet is awesomeвЂ¦ Uncharted not so much. God of War is SonyвЂ™s most beloved franchise too with over 2.5 million fans growing at a rate of about 1 million every 6 months on the Facebook fan page, nothing else comes close.
